Unlock Your Child's Potential with Our ABA Therapy Program!

Discover the new Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapy Program at Integrate Health Services, led by seasoned Registered Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and an experienced multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting children and teens with autism and other neurodivergence or complex needs.

What is ABA?

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based treatment for understanding behaviour and how learning can be improved. ABA can be applied to both neurodivergent and neurotypical populations to help them master specific skills (i.e., independence skills, play skills, communication skills, and more). One of the primary goals of ABA is to strengthen the quality of life of individuals, using an individualized approach considering personal values, motivations, strengths, and weaknesses.

Collaborative Care That Extends Beyond Therapy Sessions

At our clinic, the most significant progress in therapy happens when its positive effects extend beyond our sessions. We actively involve parents, caregivers, and educators in the therapeutic process. We aim to empower those who play an essential role in the child's daily life, creating a consistent and supportive environment that fosters continuous growth and development. We understand that every family has its unique cultural and social background and lives by its values. Therefore, we provide culturally sensitive services to respect and honour each family's cultural diversity. Our approach is always empathic and positive, with the ultimate goal of helping children and families thrive.

We are delighted to provide evidence-based approaches based on the latest research in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). Our primary objective is to equip children with skills that will enable them to thrive in various aspects of their lives, including social interactions, academic pursuits, and daily routines. We are devoted to offering practical, hands-on strategies that will support each child on their individual journey.

READY, SET, PLAY

SOCIAL SKILLS PLAY GROUP- ABA FOCUSED (AGES 3-7)

What is ‘Ready, Set, Play’?

‘Ready, Set, Play’ is a Social Skills program that is designed for children to learn and practice appropriate social exchanges within a supportive and therapeutic play based environment.

Children with a developmental delay or barrier may require assistance in the areas of social interaction and communication during play. Within this group your child will be exposed to therapeutic social situations with peers and adults, in which appropriate interactions will be fostered. This program will teach children the tools required to effectively and appropriately engage in play with the goal of developing sustainable and meaningful interactions.

The Importance of Play

Play is critically important to healthy brain development. Through play children learn to socialize, to develop physically, cognitively and emotionally and to meaningfully engage with the world around them. Children learn to practice verbal communication (understanding of spoken language and producing their own), non-verbal communication (understanding of gestures), roleplaying real life situations and emerging empathetic skills. Social maturity and social awareness are achieved as play evolves and becomes more sophisticated.

What is Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)?

The ‘Ready, Set, Play’ group is developed using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). ABA is a treatment method that has been clinically proven to help children learn new skills. In ABA programs, skills are broken down into their simplest components and taught in a step-by-step progression.

What Can You Expect?

This group will focus on helping your child to develop the following skills:

  • Emotional Regulation (managing expression of feelings)
  • Appropriate manipulation of toys
  • Turn taking and sharing
  • Extended joint attention skills (sharing common interest with another person)
  • Attend to group instruction (listening, following direction)
  • Self-Awareness (personal space, boundaries)
